I had the opportunity to discover wines from the Jura wine region at the Fabrik8 - Mile-Ex on September 12 with Master of Wine Jacky Blisson. From a small wine region in eastern France, Jura wines are distinctive and... unusual. Available at this tasting was the "yellow wine" typical to Jura but I also got to discover the Chardonnay from this wine region as well as Brut Crémant.
I really enjoyed the wines from Domaine Maire et Fils. Their Chardonnay from their « Grand Minéral » Collection comes with great freshness, with an airy, elegant and very mineral character. Their Pinot Noir was one of my favourite wines at the event.
The wines from Domaine Rolet were also great. Their Arbois Rouge "Tradition" is a fun blend of 40% Poulsard, 30% Trousseau and 30% Pinot Noir while their Arbois Poulsard "Vieilles Vignes" was also lovely.
The wine event was also the opportunity for the launch of the short movie from Master of Wine Jacky Blisson WINE TRAVELS, Jura Wines Discovered.
